Welcome to SU HQ

So if you've checked out our 'About' page, you know who and why we are...

But what do we actually do at Stitched Up HQ behind that little blue door?

There are three main ways we set out to fulfill the aims in our manifesto - find out more below!

We take donations of textiles from individuals and businesses to prevent them ending up in landfill. They're used in our workshops, made available for community re-use and what's left is recycled. We also run quarterly Clothes Swaps to keep clothes in use for longer.

We teach sewing, clothes making, mending and upcycling skills to people of all ages and abilities. We have a programme of workshops open to the public and also travel to organisations across Greater Manchester who work with young people and vulnerable adults.

The fast fashion industry takes a huge toll on people and planet. We run educational events that help raise awareness of these issues including talks, fashion shows and film screenings. We also support campaigns like Fashion Revolution and Labour Behind the Label.
