When the six of us formed Stitched Up in 2011 our aim was to inspire a more sustainable wardrobe through fun sewing and upcycling workshops in Manchester. At our first meeting, Alice said: ‘wouldn’t it be amazing if one day we had our own shop?’
Now in 2014, with generous support from Recycle for Greater Manchester, UnLtd and the School for Social Entrepreneurs, we’ve made that happen. It’s taken a lot of painting, sanding and heavy lifting, but Stitched Up now have a headquarters at 517 Wilbraham Road, Chorlton (next door to the fantastic Kingbee Records). We’ve also had some fantastic support from MMU Hollings Faculty and I&G Cohen, who have both helped us out with a supply of reclaimed materials and textiles, which you’ll be able to find in our shop.
Stitched Up HQ will be a space for crafters, makers and tinkerers. We’ll soon be announcing our schedule of workshops and events throughout 2014, plus selling a selection of sustainable clothing and accessories. Our doors will be opening on Saturday 4th January from 10am to 6pm and we hope you can come and have a look around.

Brilliant news! Can’t wait to come visit! Maya
You’ve done an amazing job, not only upcycling your new shop but adding and introducing new energy and vibrancy to Chorlton. I don’t know how aware you are but you just gone and started a new creative revolution!
