We’re delighted to announce a brand new partership with Friends of Victoria Park Stretford (FOVPS), working to create a dye garden in Stretford. Thanks to funding from the RHS, we’ll be working with YOU to test our the idea over the next few months!

The ultimate plan is to create a community dye garden within Victoria Park, which will become a place for people to meet, garden, find dyestuffs and experiment with natural dyes for their personal and professional projects.

The grant will enable us to test the idea and get feedback from the community on what the project should look like.

Our first step is to bring together a team of volunteers who are interested in getting involved. We’re not just looking for gardeners – if you’re interested more in natural dyeing, developing community resources, or just fancy getting out of the house and enjoying some fresh air with lovely people, you’re welcome to join us!

We have planned our first introductory volunteer session for 1-3pm on Sunday 26th November, at the Community Room in Victoria Park.

During this session we will introduce the project, show you around the growing spaces and collect your ideas to feed into a project plan, which we will create together.

If you’d like to join us, make sure to register here.

After this initial session, we’ll be taking a break in December, returning with the next session in January/February (date TBC), when we will finalise the project plan and start preparing our growing space!

Alongside the volunteer sessions, we are hoping to have some workshops/talks – led by local natural dyeing experts – which we plan to take place in the early part of 2024. If you’d like to stay in touch with all the latest developments, including workshop dates, please fill in our short survey and leave your email address.

Look forward to growing with you all!
