In this, the International Year of Coops, we were very proud to showcase Coops with an exhibition at Rochdale Pioneers Museum. You can read more about this exhibition on our blog.
To coincide with the exhibition, we ran a Stitch it Don’t Ditch it banner making workshop. Street Stitching is an international movement. Volunteers joyfully interrupt the high street by mending in the street. Each person has a hand crafted banner behind their chair bearing Stitch It Don’t Ditch It, and it’s been an event we’ve loved getting involved with every year.
By teaching about the joys of mending as activism, and making these banners, we helped set participants up for the next Street Stitching event.
If your organisation or group would like to learn more about visible mending, textile waste, or repair in general, get in touch.
