Here’s some happy mail going out to our participants for a brand new project which we’re super excited to be starting this week!
We’re working with women’s groups across Manchester to help participants their own unique upcycled shirt designs from home. Everyone taking part is getting one of these upcycling kits and access to a series of video tutorials.
Though we’ve had to move the project online due to Covid restrictions, the motivation behind the Common Thread project remains the same – to bring women together around a shared interest in sewing and fashion, to learn and share skills and build their self-confidence.
The project is funded by the Workers Educational Association and our partners include MASH, Pankhurst Trust women’s groups and Richmond Fellowship.
We’ll share further updates as the project progresses – can’t wait to see everyone’s fnished pieces!
