Job Description

Our sustainable clothing hub in Stretford isn’t just a place where you can come & learn to sew, but also a cosy, fun space to meet new people and share skills and ideas. As well as sewing and upcycling workshops, we offer drop-in sessions, clothes swaps, social gatherings and educational events that provide an alternative to the chain stores and empty shops of your average British high street. In addition to the public programme run from our Stretford space, we run pop-up events across Greater Manchester including Clothes Swaps, talks and workshops.

We’re a close knit team who work together to manage the organisation as well as deliver our day-to-day activities. Our roles are challenging but also fun, varied and highly rewarding.

We have a vacancy for a position managing our volunteers and Textile Reuse Project. We are also looking for a candidate who is interested in becoming a Co-Director and member of Stitched Up.

As this role is a core team member of the cooperative you will also be expected to take on general duties of running the organisation, including management and day-to-day tasks, as well as, potentially, facilitating workshops.

As the Volunteer Coordinator you will be responsible for the recruitment, management and planning of volunteers and related activities. We currently run volunteer days twice a week as well as additional sessions at events and workshops. You will also be expected to contribute to the organisation of our regular events such as our Clothes Swaps and Yard Sales.

As the Textile Reuse Project Coordinator you will be responsible for the operations of the Textile Reuse Project. We currently accept donations of textile waste from companies and the public, making them available for creative reuse through workshops and our pop up shop (currently open 3 days a week). You will be responsible for the overall management of the stock, pop up shop and online shop.

We will consider job shares for the right candidates.
