Since we moved out of Stretford Mall in March, we’ve been looking for a more permanent home. Leaving the Mall meant losing our workshop space, so the last six months have been challenging. We’ve had our stuff stored in three different locations and struggled to find venues to host our workshops and events.

Thanks to Stretford Public Hall and Friends of Victoria Park Stretford (FOVPS), we were able to get by. FOVPS sorted us with a venue space at very short notice, and thanks to both organisations we were able to keep our events running. FOVPS even found us some storage space in their office which was hugely appreciated.

Thanks also to all of you for sticking with us during this time, continuing to support our workshops, events and volunteering opportunities. We appreciate you!

After all of the disruption of the last six months we’re VERY happy to share that we’re moving to Bridge 5 Mill in Ancoats! Originally called Beswick Mill, in its previous life it was a Victorian silk factory, followed by a stint as Ancoats Lads Club, before being refurbished in the 90s and reinvented as Manchester’s first centre for sustainable living, which opened in 2001.

Bridge 5 Mill is both owned by and occupied by organisations working for social and environmental change. After years of being just us in our own venue, we’re SO EXCITED to be in a shared building with like-minded organisations who are doing great work in Manchester.

The move also means an upgrade in our event spaces, as Bridge 5 Mill has some beautiful and spacious rooms which we will be making great use of.

As of October, all workshops and courses in our Public Programme will take place at Bridge 5 Mill. You can see everything that’s coming up here. Keep an eye on this page too, as we’ll have announcements about new events coming very soon.

Here’s to exciting things ahead!

See you all soon at our new home in Ancoats
