T-Shirt UpCYCLING Challenge [SEPT 2022]

Join Stitched Up for a morning of upcycling. Taking pre-loved t-shirts and creating something useful and new to you!

Intro to Rag Rugging
A great way to use up old t-shirts and other textile scraps. Upcycling at it’s most resourceful!

While you won’t have time to make a whole rug at this workshop, you’ll create a small sample to take home. You will go away armed with all the knowledge you need to create a full-size custom rug.

T-shirts to Coasters
Upcycle your preloved t-shirts and jersey into a decorative coaster, placemats, bowl or plant pot covering. You will learn the basic technique to create a coaster and how to adapt it to a larger project.

Skill: Techniques for planning your design, preparing your materials and constructing your rag rug or coaster. Opportunities for both hand and machine sewing depending on project.

Level: 10+ this is a multi-level age group. All participants under the age of 16 will need to book on with a parent or guardian

Bring: All equipment and some materials provided. Depending on your project you will need to bring at least 1 pre-loved t-shirt. We will have a small selection to buy on the day at £2 per item.
