
[POSTPONED] KIDS Learn to sew – 3 weeks [April 2020]
Calling all young crafters, come and learn to sew with us! Our new 3 week course will help you master fundamental machine sewing skills and you’ll create two new items to take home! Aimed at 8+ years.
The course takes place at our HQ in Chorlton on the following dates:
Thurs 23rd April, 4-5:30pm
Thurs 30th April, 4-5:30pm
Thurs 7th May, 4-5:30pm
Skills: Threading a sewing machine, basic manoeuvres, stitch settings and tension control, learn how to hem, turn corners, finishing off your work, using patterns, cutting out and construction.
WEEK 1: Pass Your Sewing Machine Driving Test! Our 1.5-hour crash course covers all the basics of using your sewing machine. Come away with a load more confidence, plus a certificate and an appliqued ‘L’ plate.
WEEK 2: Scrunchie/Bow tie. Learn to work from a pattern to sew up your first ever sewing project – a scrunchie hair band or a bow tie, sewing with elastic!
WEEK 3: Drawstring Bag. Building on the skills you learned in week 1 & 2, this week we’ll create a functional and sturdy drawstring bag to carry all your bits and bobs.
