Brand New: Pattern Drafting with Zoey Barnes [oCT 2022]
Tired of standardised sizing? Always wanted to design your own wardrobe?
Join Zoey for a jam packed weekend stepping up your sewing journey and learning to make basic pattern blocks from your own measurements!

Zoey is a designer and seamstress from Manchester. She works from her home studio creating made to measure garments and costumes for theatre. She has two years’ experience in pattern making and loves the freedom it gives her to make her own designs for any body type.
Saturday 15th of October 10am – 3:45pm
Sunday 16th of October 10am – 3:45pm
From there you will develop your own block into a functioning pattern and put those skills to the test by making a toile.

Skill: Basic pattern making. Flat patterning from your measurements- a basic bodice or dress block, a basic sleeve, and supervision whilst you create your own designs using your blocks as a
guideline.
Level: Ages 17+ To join this course you need to be familiar with a sewing machine and have completed one or two garment making projects. Not there yet? Complete our three-week Learn to Sew Course for absolute beginners or our Garment Making Workshops to experience putting a garment together (view upcoming dates).
Bring: All equipment and some materials provided. Plain non stretch cotton for the toile will be available to buy from us on the day or prior to the workshops but you are welcome to bring your own. How much fabric you need will depend on the pattern you design.
****REMEMBER a Toile is a mock up of your design and not the final outcome so resist the urge to select your favourite fabric.****
*PLEASE NOTE: As a small not-for-profit cooperative, our time and resources are always stretched to the max. In the event that a workshop doesn’t reach it’s minimum capacity, we will need to reschedule it. If this happens, you’ll be given as much notice as possible and your booking can be transferred to a future date or refunded. Please refer to our cancellation policy for terms and conditions. We hope you understand and thank you for your support.
