OPEN DAY: Communities in Control
Come along to our Open Day to find out more about what we do and this feeds in to a more inclusive economy.
What is that, we hear you ask?
GMCVO have written a useful blog about what an inclusive economy would look like and how we can start working wards it in Manchester. In brief, it’s a more equal economy where all communities have the power and resources they need in order to live well.
So what can you expect during our Open Day? Drop in anytime between 1-4pm to:
- learn about our Community Benefit Society structure and how you can join.
- see case studies from community-led projects we’ve been involved with, including participant-led sewing groups and repair cafes.
- try out clothing repair and upcycling (bring a garment to fix)
- an invite to come back and see the inclusive economy in action, at Stretford Repair Cafe on Saturday 9th July.
All are welcome! Tickets are free, but if you can register below to let us know you’re coming, it helps to give us an idea of numbers.
This event is part of GMCVO’s Communities in Control week of action. There are loads of other events to join in – we’d highly recommend checking out the rest of the programme.
