Nip/Tuck Clothing Alterations workshop [Sept 2021]
Adjust ill-fitting charity shop splurges or vintage finds. This workshop will equip you with the skills you need to take things up or in ‘till they fit you like a dream!
Working on an item of clothing you’ve brought along, we’ll help you make the alterations you need to get a great fit. If you do not have an item you want to bring we will have a small selection of shirts available for you to buy for £3
Depending on the complexity of your chosen design, you may not have time to complete your project during the workshop. However, if that is the case, we’ll send you away armed with the knowledge to finish it at home.
Skills: Unpicking stitching, altering seams, taking up hems, understanding the construction of your garment, using a sewing machine.
Level: Adult (aged 17+), Beginner, Intermediate.
To join this course you need to be familiar with a sewing machine and have completed a few machine-sewn projects. Not there yet? Complete our three-week Learn to Sew Course (view upcoming dates).
Bring: Please bring along a garment that you’d like to take up or in. This can be a dress, skirt, top or trousers.
*PLEASE NOTE: As a small not-for-profit cooperative, our time and resources are always stretched to the max. In the event that a workshop is at less than 50% capacity, we will need to reschedule it. If this happens, you’ll be given as much notice as possible and your booking can be transferred to a future date or refunded. Please refer to our cancellation policy for terms and conditions. We hope you understand and thank you for your support.
