Fix It Course: Stitched Up X Boilerhouse

In collaboration with Moss Side Boilerhouse and R4GM. The Boilerhouse are running FREE Fix It Courses to inspire the repair movement.

Hosted here at our Stretford Mall Pop Up, Stitched Up are hosting an afternoon of textile mending. From simple fixes to more complex repairs.

During the 3 hour course we will spend the first half looking at the different types of repairs and troubleshooting how to fix them with information packs on hand.

After learning a range of techniques we will put those skills into practice in the second half of the course by visibly mending small denim patches inspired by the Japanese Sashiko technique. Using patching and embroidery techniques, we’ll help you to create visible mends that areunique and fabulous.

This workshop is a mix of both hand and machine sewing. You will learn how to mend your clothes with a variety of different embroidery stitches.

Level: Suitable for beginners

Bring: All equipment and materials will be provided but do come armed with a notebook and pen!
