Ages 8+ My First Sewing Project: Tote Bag [August 2022]
Want to get started on your first sewing triumph – a tote bag you can use with pride for years to come?
Join Stitched Up for a morning of learning to sew and making your first sewing project. The first part of the session will be an introduction to sewing, learning how to thread up the machine, trying different stitch types and keeping your machine in good knick.
After a short snack break you’ll learn to follow a pattern, then using reclaimed materials cut out your pattern pieces and stitch together your very own handmade tote bag.

Skills: Threading a sewing machine, basic manoeuvres, following a pattern, seams, hems and finishing fabric edges.
Level: Beginners ages 8+
Bring: Just yourself! All fabric and equipment provided.
There will be a 15 minute break during the workshop please bring along a drink and a snack if you’ll need one.
*PLEASE NOTE: As a small not-for-profit cooperative, our time and resources are always stretched to the max. In the event that a workshop is at less than 50% capacity, we will need to reschedule it. If this happens, you’ll be given as much notice as possible and your booking can be transferred to a future date or refunded. If you book a space on the workshop and need to cancel, please refer to our cancellation policy. We hope you understand and thank you for your support.
