An introduction to the ancient Japanese dye technique Shibori. Join us for a fun afternoon experimenting resist dyeing techniques using beautiful blue natural indigo dye.
Skills: Learn to use resist techniques including stitch and tying using found items to create different patterns on fabric with indigo dye. Take home a set of beautiful samples to refer to in future.
Bring: Bring some fabric or old clothes to dye. To take the dye, they must be made from natural fibres – cotton, linen, hemp, silk or wool. If you don’t have anything suitable there will be some organic natural fabrics on sale on the day for anyone who needs them. This workshop is going to get messy, so please wear or bring clothes you don’t mind getting dye on.
*PLEASE NOTE: As a small not-for-profit cooperative, our time and resources are always stretched to the max. In the event that a workshop is at less than 50% capacity, we will need to reschedule it. If this happens, you’ll be given as much notice as possible and your booking can be transferred to a future date or refunded. We hope you understand and thank you for your support.
