Adjust ill-fitting charity shop splurges or vintage finds. This workshop will equip you with the skills you need to take things up or in ‘till they fit you like a dream!
Working on an item of clothing you’ve brought along, we’ll help you make the alterations you need to get a great fit.
It might not be possible to completely finish your alteration project during the class, but if not, we’ll send you home with some armed with the knowledge to finish your project at home. If you get stuck, this class runs once every month so you’re welcome to come back next time to finish it.
Skills: Unpicking stitching, altering seams, taking up hems, understanding the construction of your garment, using a sewing machine.
Level: Basic competency on a sewing machine required. Not there yet? Pass Your Sewing Machine Driving Test first! Or do our three-week Learn to Sew Course for a more in-depth introduction to sewing with a machine. (http://www.stitchedup.coop/events/category/sewing-machine-wizard/)
Bring: Please bring along a garment that you’d like to take up or in. This can be a dress, skirt, top or trousers.
