Grab that moth-eaten old sweater and join us at our HQ for a cosy evening of mending!
Learn to darn and patch your knitwear using a variety of techniques – hand darning, sewing and needle felting. Embrace the wonderful world of visible mending and make a feature of your repairs, or keep it stealthy – it’s up to you!
We’ll also look at different ways to de-bobble your knits.
Depending on the extent of damage on your garment, we might not have time to complete all repair jobs on the day, but you will go home armed with several different skills and a load of inspiration to tackle them yourself.
Skills: Darning, patching and needle felting.
Level: This workshop is suitable for anyone from total beginners upwards.
Bring: A holey jumper, sock, scarf or other knitted item if you have one. If you don’t, let us know and we can provide you with a wool sample to practise on, along with all other materials and equipment will be provided, but feel free to bring along some yarn or felting wool if you already have a vision for your repair.
