SOS! Grab that moth-eaten old sweater and join us at our HQ for a cosy afternoon’s mending to start the new year the way we mean to go on!
Learn to darn and patch your knitwear using a variety of techniques – hand darning, sewing and needle felting. Embrace the wonderful world of visible mending and make a feature of your repairs, or keep it stealthy – it’s up to you!
Depending on the extent of the damage to your woolies we might not have time to complete all repair jobs on the day, but you will go home armed with several different skills and a load of inspiration to tackle them yourself.
Skills: Darning, patching and needle felting.
Level: This workshop is suitable for anyone from total beginners upwards.
Bring: A holey jumper, sock, scarf or other knitted item. All other materials and equipment will be provided, but feel free to bring along some yarn or felting wool if you already have a vision for your repair.
Cost: £12 per person
Bookings: This workshop will only go ahead if fully booked. Please scroll to the bottom of this page to RSVP, and when we have a class full we’ll notify you that you can book on.
*PLEASE NOTE: As a small not-for-profit cooperative, our time and resources are always stretched to the max. In the event that a workshop is at less than 50% capacity, we will need to reschedule it. If this happens, you’ll be given as much notice as possible and your booking can be transferred to a future date or refunded. We hope you understand and thank you for your support.
