We are super excited to announce that our first Repair Café will be taking place on Saturday the 16th of July! This event will be the first of its kind in Manchester and we can’t wait to bring Repair Cafés to the community.
The purpose of a Repair Café event is that people work together to fix broken things. The event, which will take place at Stitched Up HQ from 10am-12, is volunteer-run, free and open to anybody. Just drop in with or without broken items to learn repair skills from our expert volunteers, have a cup of tea, and maybe even help out yourself.
Any broken items that you are able to transport to the repair café are welcome. This could be toasters, lamps, toys, clothes, hair dryers, bikes, crockery etc. If you have any tools that could be used to fix your item, or someone else’s, it would be great if you could bring these along too.
If you are interested in helping out with this fantastic project please drop us an email, we are looking for;
>> General volunteers to help out at the Repair Cafés once a month
>>Volunteer repairers with skills in fixing furniture, electronics, bikes and technology
>>Donations (or lenders) of tools which would come in handy for mending the above items
>> People to help spread the word!

We look forward to seeing you on the 16th!
